Liverpool have applied for a European trademark for the phrase ‘the Normal One’ in honours of manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp dubbed himself ‘the Normal One’ after being compared to ‘the Special One’ Jose Mourinho after completing his move to Liverpool.

It became a trending phrase and has been used on banners and t-shirts around Anfield – but Liverpool have moved to copyright it.

In papers filed on October 19 – 10 days after Klopp’s comment – Liverpool want to secure the phrase and it’s usage in Europe.
